A very early Jack McConnell hat – a simple burgundy felt roller, trimmed in navy ribbon. A knife shaped blade of felt stiffened with wire pierces the brim and stands up, holding feather, with lower edge continuing below brim to temple. It has a very ingenious feature – the blade folds flat for storage, with the curved portion fitting inside the crown.
